Is British Airways pulling out of the Nigerian market?

Image
There had been reports quoting Mr Kola Olayinka, Country Manager British Airways, as saying that the “U.K. carrier is struggling to repatriate its share of the $575 million that Nigeria currently owe the airlines from tickets sold in Nigeria.” A statement from the airline, Sunday, denied the reports and indicated that Nigeria remains a strategic market for the airline and will continue to operate in Nigeria The statement in part reads thus “ Our attention has been called to reports in several newspapers Sunday that British Airways is considering an exit from Nigeria.” “British Airways has a long history in Nigeria, having begun operations in the country 80 years ago as Imperial Airways. “Nigeria remains a strategic market for BA and our operations locally are very strong. We have not issued any statements at any time indicating that we are on the verge of terminating operations in the country. We will continue to operate to Nigeria.” Tags: Vanguard Read more at: http://www.v

My thoughts on Tourism in Nigeria...

Image
Nigeria is such a blessed country with great abundance in almost everything BUT because of the mindset, so much ignorance and wastage is the order of the day. Every state in Nigeria has its unique features for tourism, and getting these sites to generate income requires just a little. But because of selfish desires these sites are allowed to rot away. Nigerians every year take huge sum of money out side the country to see sites in other countries. As a travel and tour consultant, I see what other countries are doing in their tourism sectors and it hurts so much that a country such as Nigeria will not take advantage of the beautiful opportunities. I guess its high time we stop all the summits, seminars, communique and get to work. In this industry you cannot afford to put a square peg in a round hole its a luxury. I look forward to selling Nigerian tours.

what will be the nationality of baby born on board?

Image
For those curious about the child’s nationality, according to the United Nations 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness, "birth on a ship or in an aircraft shall be deemed to have taken place in the territory of the State whose flag the ship flies or in the territory of the State in which the aircraft is registered, as the case may be". Cebu Pacific is registered in the Philippines.

Is this true?

Extra charges on Ryanair tickets...!

Image
From 1 September, passengers travelling with children under the age of 12 would have to pay for seats if they want to seat together. The cost range is between 8Pounds/8Euro and 26Pounds/26Euro per person per return flight. The airline says it had to introduce this because of the boarding issues experienced as crew members try to re-seat passengers with young children. The exact cost would depend on the seat selected. Ryanair is known to be Europe's  number one airline for families. www.ryanair.com
