Jigawa State tourism

Jigawa State is one of thirty-six states that constitute Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is situated in the north-western part of the country between latitudes 11.00°N to 13.00°N and longitudes 8.00°E to 10.15°E. Kano State and Katsina State border Jigawa to the west, Bauchi State to the east and Yobe State to the northeast. To the north, Jigawa shares an international border with Zinder Region in The Republic of Niger, which is a unique opportunity for cross-border trading activities. Government readily took advantage of this by initiating and establishing a Free-Trade Zone at the Border town of Maigatari of country of Niger.
Wawan Rafi Lake

Wawan Rafi is situated in Kazaure and it has a scenic environment. The lake is an holiday resort that offers water sport activities such as fishing, boating etc. Golf course and other recreational activities are also taking place there.

Range of Quasite Rocks

Range of Quasite Rocks located at Amaryawa in Roni Local Government area could provide mountaineering activities for the tourists.

Birnin Kudu Rock Painting
Birnin kudu lies in the south of Jigawa State and it is noted for the presence of large number of rocks and their fascinating ancient paintings which are of the oldest rock paintings in Nigeria. The different paintings are eloquent information on the styles of the early settlers in the area.

Hadejia Wetlands/Nguru Wetlands & Birds Sanctuary
The Hadejia wetland which extends to Nguru in neighbouring Yobe State is a popular tourist attraction in the state. The wetlands provide shelter for various rare and migratory birds. This sanctuary harbours exotic and rare species of birds. A beautiful place for bird watchers.

Emirs Palace
The Emirs palaces in Kazaura, Ringim, Gumel, Dutse and Hadejia have attractive designs which are a combination of indigenous and modern architecture.

Ringim Dying Pit
Ringim Dyeing Pit is an ancient dying pit in Ringm used in the dyeing of clothes.

Gwaram Forest Reserve
The forest reserve is one of the reserves created by the government to preserve the forest and wildlife
