My thoughts on Tourism in Nigeria...




Nigeria is such a blessed country with great abundance in almost everything BUT because of the mindset, so much ignorance and wastage is the order of the day.
Every state in Nigeria has its unique features for tourism, and getting these sites to generate income requires just a little. But because of selfish desires these sites are allowed to rot away.

Nigerians every year take huge sum of money out side the country to see sites in other countries.
As a travel and tour consultant, I see what other countries are doing in their tourism sectors and it hurts so much that a country such as Nigeria will not take advantage of the beautiful opportunities.


I guess its high time we stop all the summits, seminars, communique and get to work.
In this industry you cannot afford to put a square peg in a round hole its a luxury.

AN INCREDIBLE CAVE IN NIGERIA

          The Ogbunike Cave The Ogbunike Caves are in Ogbunike , Anambra State, southeastern Nigeria. Located in a valley blanketed by tropical rain forest, the collection of caves has been in use over centuries by local people for whom it has particular spiritual significance. This spiritual significance is still apparent, as the “Ime Ogba” celebration is undertaken every year to commemorate the discovery of the caves.    Descending into the valley where the caves are located is a lengthy walkway made up of about 317 steps said to have been constructed by the Anambra State Government in the mid 90s. Visitors must remove their shoes before entering the caves, as per tradition. British Airways launches longest long-haul flight to Santiago, Chile British Airways is launching the only direct flight between London and Santiago, Chile from January 3rd, 2017. Santiago will become the airline’s lengthiest long-haul route, taking 14 hours 40 minutes, nearly an hour more than the current longest flight of 13 hours 50 minutes service to Buenos Aires. The four-a-week flight will be served by the airline’s newest aircraft, the four-cabin Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with a new First cabin. Santiago will be the latest destination in Latin America to join British Airways’ route network.  The airline recently launched new services to San Jose in Costa Rica and Lima in Peru. PROTEA HOTELS GROUP EXPANDING TO BOTSWANA

Protea Hotels is signing agreements for the development of its first hotel in Botswana, the ninth country in Africa in which the brand will have a presence.
