Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport will be shut down from 8th March to April 2017. All international flights will be routed through Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos. The closure is for the renovation of the run way. This is a good initiative by the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure the safety of air travelers. Drop your comments!

The airport is shut down because of the shooting that took place. It is still unknown the intent. The suspect is currently under investigation.

5 dead and 8 injured at the  Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida.   A gun man opened fire at the baggage claim area at the airport and laid down to be arrested after the act. He is currently under investigation. Motive is not known yet.

The closure is for the repair of the run ways which has gone bad and endangering passengers lives. Present at the meeting are diplomats from various embassies, Dg's of various related ministries and parastatals, press, stake holders and members of the public.   He stated clearly that both the Federal and Kaduna State Govt are working tirelessly to ensure the work is done properly and on time. Passengers flying from Athens to London Heathrow on the BA633 flight, were forced to sit on the delayed plane for more than three hours. Passengers including families with young children,  on the British Airways flight were made to sit on the tarmac  in the un-airconditioned plane for hours. The flight that was scheduled for Exhausted 7.50pm on Monday was later cancelled and passengers  only got accommodation in Athens about 2am after the nightmare.

A pair of American Samoan businessmen have filed complaints to the US Transportation Department after they were weighed before boarding a flight from Honolulu – and assigned specific seats to keep the aircraft’s load evenly distributed. Radio New Zealand  reports that Hawaiian Airlines – in response to an increase in average passenger weight – has been routinely preventing those flying to or from Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa, from choosing their own seats online, and has also required them to step on the scales before boarding. The airline told the station that the expanding girth of the typical passenger means it is required to redistribute weight in its Boeing 767 cabins to meet the manufacturer’s guidelines.
