Hotel Business with Bunmi: Causes of low revenue in hotel business.

Every  guest that decides to patronize a hotel either for business or pleasure expects to get value for their money.
The guest will always want to have a feel of being HOME AWAY FROM HOME.
But unfortunately, this is hardly experienced as some hotels fail to meet up with guest need.
Would this lead to low revenue?
DEFINITELY!

I will be sharing some of the possible causes:

1. Bad service
No body wants to be in an environment where he/she will not be treated nicely. And for the guest, he sure wants to get value for his money. But when a service is paid for and the expectation is not met of cause there wont be a return visit.

2. Unskilled staff
Any hotel that does not invest in staff training will sure loose customers. The staff are the representative of the hotel and they have direct contact with the guest. So its better imagined if untrained staff have to deal with issues concerning the guest.

 3. Poor facilities and amenities
Most hotels do not meet up with what they put up on their adverts. When a guest comes in and sees worn, dirty and sometimes non functioning electronics for example, there is definitely not going to be a return visit.

 4. Guest relations
Customer service starts from the gate. A bad reception from the entrance is a great determining factor for patronage.

 5. Poor marketing.
If guest don't know you exist, they can not patronize. If there are no specific marketing strategy for the hotel, even when its has every thing in place, there will be no patronage.

 It should be noted that referrals is one of the greatest tool to boost revenue!
