How the New U.S. Visa Policy Could Affect the Hospitality Industry During the 2026 FIFA World Cup The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be one of the largest sporting events in history, with the United States hosting the majority of matches alongside Canada and Mexico. The tournament is projected to attract millions of international visitors, creating enormous opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, tour operators, and other hospitality businesses. Increased Travel Restrictions The U.S. government has introduced stricter visa requirements for citizens of several countries, including expanded travel restrictions, enhanced vetting procedures, and visa bond requirements for some visitors. While exemptions have been made for players, coaches, and official team personnel, many ordinary...

The Suitcase That Changed My Life It was supposed to be an ordinary journey. On a rainy morning in September, I arrived at the airport carrying two suitcases—one filled with clothes and essentials, the other filled with dreams, fears, and unanswered questions. I was traveling abroad for the first time. As I sat in the departure lounge watching people rush past, I wondered if I was making the right decision. Leaving family, friends, and everything familiar behind was not easy. Yet something deep inside me whispered that growth often begins where comfort ends. The flight lasted several hours, but the real journey had just begun. The first few weeks were challenging. Everything was different—the weather, the food, the accents, and even the way people interacted. There were moments of loneliness, moments of doubt, and moments when I questioned whether I belonged. One evening, after a particularly difficult day, I decided to take a walk through the city. The streets were alive with li...

The Day a Taxi Driver Taught Me a Life Lesson It was one of those days when nothing seemed to be going right. My flight had been delayed, my luggage had taken forever to arrive, and by the time I finally stepped out of the airport, exhaustion had completely taken over. All I wanted was to get to my hotel, take a shower, and forget the day had ever happened. I hailed a taxi and settled into the back seat. The driver was an older gentleman with a warm smile. As we pulled away from the airport, he noticed my frustration and asked, "Long day?" I nodded. "Very long," I replied. For a few minutes, we drove in silence. Then he pointed to the traffic ahead. "See that?" he said. I looked up. Cars stretched endlessly down the road. "We can sit here complaining about the traffic," he continued, "or we can enjoy the journey while we're in it. Either way, we're going to be here for a while." I laughed politely, thinking it was just small t...

Tiv culture....!
Marriage in Tiv land Tiv (sometimes pronounced as Tivi) is an ethno-linguistic group or nation in West Africa. They number approximately thirteen million two hundred thousand individuals in Nigeria and Cameroon. In Nigeria, most speakers are found in Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba . Tiv marriage forms can be seen through four basic phases. 1.The earliest was yamshe, marriage by exchange: a man who needed a wife located another man who had the same need. 2.They then exchanged their sisters or daughters as wives. Next, there was the kwase-ngohol / tsuen / k ô run, marriage by capture. This was divided into two. -There was, first, the forceful snatching of a wife from her husband that in Akiga ’ s words was usually done by some “ scoundrel[s] ” who could fall on a travelling couple and take the wife and sometimes, even harass her husband. This form of marriage, by which the Tiv themselves lost many of their women during their mi...
