Oman Air Holidays Now Available online Oman Air Holidays has launched the first fully online holidays booking engine in Oman. The holidays’ division of the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has unveiled a dynamic new website and booking system on the official website . It offers a range of holiday products, such as package holidays - including flights, hotels, transfer, tours and activities - and dynamic packages, which customers can build to suit their needs. DELTA AIR EXPANDS SCOTLAND FLIGHTS

   DELTA AIRLINE EXPANDS Two weeks after Delta Air Lines started service between Edinburgh and New York-JFK, the US airline has announced it will double its Scottish network in summer 2017 when it begins flying between Glasgow and the Big Apple. The service, which will begin on May 26th, 2017, will be the only non-stop fight between Glasgow and New York-JFK and will operate daily throughout the summer. From JFK, customers will have a choice of 60 same-day onward connections throughout the United States, including the popular cities of Los Angeles, Orlando and San Francisco. The flight will be operated in conjunction with partners Virgin Atlantic Airways and this new service adds to Virgin’s seasonal service from Glasgow to Orlando. “As a core component of our global strategy, we are eager to build our network across the UK and this new flight shows our commitment to Scotland,” said Dwight James, Delta senior vice president trans-Atlantic. “With this service, Delta will ope

Jamaican  local producers to boost tourism Jamaica minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett is urging local manufacturers to boost local production to meet the growing demand of the island’s vibrant tourism sector. The minister issued the charge as he outlined the findings of the Tourism Linkages Network’s tourism demand study to members of the manufacturing industry at the Duke Street offices of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association. The study indicates that the annual leakage, due to imports, amounts to $65.4 billion in the manufacturing sector. The study also reveals that there is a gap of some $41 billion of unfulfilled demand for select manufactured items as only J$24 billion in demand is now being met locally. The categories of items which contribute most to this gap are: apparel, accessories, textiles, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and office stationery. PROTEA HOTELS GROUP EXPANDING TO BOTSWANA

Protea Hotels is signing agreements for the development of its first hotel in Botswana, the ninth country in Africa in which the brand will have a presence. First established in South Africa, Protea Hotels has expanded over recent years into Zambia, Nigeria, Namibia, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania and Ghana. “This latest development reflects our ongoing commitment to doing business in Africa, and to providing the sort of quality accommodation and facilities that the market in Africa is calling for,” says Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Middle East and Africa for Marriott International. Marriott International, the parent company of Protea Hotels, plans to open over 93 hotels – equating to 19,000 additional rooms – in the Middle East & Africa region between now and 2025.
