Bar Beach was a very popular tourist site some

Years back especially during festive seasons.


These young stars shared their talent of rapping with me.










It is on the Atlantic Ocean along Lagos shoreline.

Bar Beach is situated at Victoria Island, Lagos State

Nigeria.

 





A little history of the beach:

It was actually a venue where armed robbers and

Coup plotters were executed by firing squad in the

70’s.

From the 80’s it started overflowing its banks, which

resulted to flooding that led to loss of lives and properties.

In 2000’s the serving Governor of Lagos state, commissioned

 EKO Atlantic city, 2016 precisely.

 Eko Atlantic city is currently sited on Bar Beach with a plan of

Building residential and business district which will occupy 10million

Square meters with 8.5kilometer long sea wall.

It will be nice to visit Bar Beach when next you  are in Lagos or Nigeria.

Is British Airways pulling out of the Nigerian market?

There had been reports quoting Mr Kola Olayinka, Country Manager British Airways, as saying that the “U.K. carrier is struggling to repatriate its share of the $575 million that Nigeria currently owe the airlines from tickets sold in Nigeria.” A statement from the airline, Sunday, denied the reports and indicated that Nigeria remains a strategic market for the airline and will continue to operate in Nigeria The statement in part reads thus “ Our attention has been called to reports in several newspapers Sunday that British Airways is considering an exit from Nigeria.” “British Airways has a long history in Nigeria, having begun operations in the country 80 years ago as Imperial Airways. “Nigeria remains a strategic market for BA and our operations locally are very strong. Jamaican  local producers to boost tourism Jamaica minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett is urging local manufacturers to boost local production to meet the growing demand of the island’s vibrant tourism sector. The minister issued the charge as he outlined the findings of the Tourism Linkages Network’s tourism demand study to members of the manufacturing industry at the Duke Street offices of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association. The study indicates that the annual leakage, due to imports, amounts to $65.4 billion in the manufacturing sector.
