Trump lifts travel restriction related to covid

Before President Trump exit from the White House he signed an executive order on

Monday removing restrictions on air travel for most non US citizens and permanent residents travelling from Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland and Schengen states effective January 26. China and Iran were also included in the restriction but were not excluded from the executive order.

Biden administration has said they would not lift the travel restriction. Stating on twitter Psaki said “with the pandemic worsening, and more contagious variants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travels”

The easing of the travel restrictions was announced after the US centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the previous week that a negative covid-19 test is mandatory for all air travelers entering the US, and test must be done 72 hours before arrival into the US with PCR fit to fly certificate or document to show recovery from covid-19.

There will be more update, when the new president is inaugurated and gets into office.
