The Minister of Aviation in Nigeria Captain Hadi Sirika stated yesterday that the Federal Government is not going back on its plan to concession the four major airports in Nigeria.


These are Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt international airports to improve their safety capacity.


Reacting to the protest by the some aviation unions, he said it was a misconception that the Government is not privatizing the airports or selling but that the concession will ensure proper management  while the Government retains their ownership.

First Airport run by solar power in Africa

George Airport is located at the heart of the Western Cape’s Garden Route; a fashionable holiday destination and home to many of South Africa’s most affluent residents.  It handles over 600,000 passengers a year, many of them tourists, but it's also a national distribution hub for cargo such as flowers, fish, oysters, herbs and ferns. George Airport is the first in Africa to be powered by solar energy. It is expected to harness 41% of its energy from the sun. The facility started with 3000 photovoltaic modules and will increase its capacity gradually to deliver 750kw power at full production.          I will say a big congratulations to the South Africa Government for this accomplishment.

About Oguta and Orashi river in Imo state

One of such wonders is hiding in  Nigeria , in Imo  state, within the rainforests of the  Niger-Delta . In Imo State, there are two angry rivers flow side-by-side without ever coming together, namely Oguta Lake and Orashi river. Info The origin of the name Idoma remained a mystery but some believe that there was once a man called Idu Oma who is the father of all Idoma people.The Idoma people once lived as a community in Apa, a place north east of the present Idoma land located in what is now southern Adamawa and Nothern Taraba.
