British Airways launches longest long-haul flight to Santiago, Chile British Airways is launching the only direct flight between London and Santiago, Chile from January 3rd, 2017. Santiago will become the airline’s lengthiest long-haul route, taking 14 hours 40 minutes, nearly an hour more than the current longest flight of 13 hours 50 minutes service to Buenos Aires. The four-a-week flight will be served by the airline’s newest aircraft, the four-cabin Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complete with a new First cabin. Santiago will be the latest destination in Latin America to join British Airways’ route network.  The airline recently launched new services to San Jose in Costa Rica and Lima in Peru. Trump lifts travel restriction related to covid

  Before President Trump exit from the White House he signed an executive order on Monday removing restrictions on air travel for most non US citizens and permanent residents  travelling from Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland and Schengen states effective January 26. China and Iran were also included in the restriction but were not excluded from the executive order. Biden administration has said they would not lift the travel restriction. Stating on twitter Psaki said “with the pandemic worsening, and more contagious variants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travels” The easing of the travel restrictions was announced after the US centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the previous week that a negative covid-19 test is mandatory for all air travelers entering the US, and test must be done 72 hours before arrival into the US with PCR fit to fly certificate or document  to show recovery from covid-19.
